Glass Mount by Arik Levy Art & Design Studio
This immaculate concept by the famous designer, Arik Levy, is worth having a read. A transition from hot to cold, soft to hard supported by a wooden plinth, crystal mountains have risen from the ground and are now floating in the air like ice clouds. Their harmonious forms, embroidered with geometric mesh, lead the eye to smoothly roll on their surface. Contrasted by the super precise and sophisticated robotic crystal cold cutting technology, crystal feels weightless. Inviting to be taken in by hands and gently placed on their plinth for the rest of their voyage, the opposing forms of the glass and wood, complete each other just like the crystal is blown into it wooden mold. The visual effects created by the curved glass base animate the wood to become organic and fluent.
